Membership of the Caribbean Shipping Association is divided into two (2) main categories - 'ORDINARY' and 'ASSOCIATE' Members.
ORDINARY MEMBERS fall into four (4) groups:
- GROUP A: AGENTS - Ships' agents and private stevedoring contractors including National Shipping Associations.
- GROUP B: PORTS - Port and Terminal Owners and Operators.
- GROUP C: LINES - Shipowners/Operators -specifically those who have had regular services operating for at least two years within the Caribbean region.
- GROUP D: NVOCC - Non-vessel Operating Common Carriers
The ASSOCIATE MEMBERS category comprises all persons and/or companies who may not be admitted to Ordinary Membership of the Association. Associate Members are not entitled to vote at Group or General Meetings.
Eligibility For Membership
The Caribbean Shipping Association accepts membership for any of its four (4) Groups from bona fide entities operating in the Caribbean region.
The Caribbean Shipping Association defines the Caribbean Region in specific terms:
-The Greater and Lesser Antilles
-The areas of the United States of America, Mexico, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala that border the Caribbean Sea or the Gulf of Mexico.
