We are saddened by the loss of life and property in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Jamaica, and stand in solidarity with our members, their families, and communities during this difficult time.

In particular, Jamaica’s western region has suffered extensive damage, with the Port of Montego Bay and surrounding areas bearing the brunt of the storm. The parish of St. Elizabeth, known as the “bread basket” of Jamaica, has been especially hard-hit—threatening both local livelihoods and national food security.

In response, the CSA is reactivating its Disaster Relief Fund, originally established in 2017 to support member countries impacted by natural disasters. This fund will serve as a conduit for assistance to those most in need. While all forms of support are welcome, cash donations remain the most immediate and flexible resource, enabling the rebuilding of critical infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, and churches—essential pillars of community life.

We invite you to stand with the people of Jamaica, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic during this time of recovery. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in helping families and communities rebuild.

For those who wish to provide additional support outside of CSA’s coordinated efforts, we encourage contributions through the Government of Jamaica’s official channel (www.supportjamaica.gov.jm). Note also that for cargo related donations the Jamaica Customs Authority released two documents, outlining a duty-free period as well as an advisory for doners on sending relief supplies.

We are also working with our members in Haiti and the Dominican Republic to identify official channels for contributions in those countries.
