TRAINING

We train and nurture top professionals to provide services of irreproachable quality.

Training and development play an integral role in the Caribbean Shipping Association’s mandate to its members and the wider maritime community. The CSA’s programmes have aided in improving the skillset of staff and enhancing the productivity of its membership.

The Frank Wellnitz Training and Wellness Initiative, named in honour of a past president, is the result of years of continued support from members who contributed to the trust fund in its developmental phase. The Association’s successes are many as we have offered coaching, training sessions and leadership preparation to expand the technical knowledge of scores of industry managers and supervisors.

Additionally, the CSA has supported training initiatives of the Caribbean Maritime University, (CMU) including the development of the Caribbean Diploma in Shipping Logistics.

Notably, the Association created the Monica Silvera Scholarship in 2005 to salute the contribution of its first female Executive Vice President. The Scholarship, financed by proceeds from the Training Trust Fund, facilitates study by Caribbean nationals at the Caribbean Maritime University.
