US$76,000 raised for CSA training fund!

Delegates at the Caribbean Shipping Association’s (CSA) 54th Annual General Meeting, Conference ad Exhibition donated an impressive US$76,000 to the body’s Frank Wellnitz Training and Wellness Initiative at the event’s Gala on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

The figure comprises pledges made by 24 companies, seven individuals and four national associations to support the CSA’s ongoing training and development efforts throughout the region.

The Frank Wellnitz Training and Wellness Initiative, named in honor of a former president, reflects years of ongoing support from members who contributed to its trust fund during its developmental stages. This initiative plays an important role in the Association’s many achievements, providing coaching, training sessions, and leadership development to enhance the technical expertise of numerous industry managers and supervisors.

In addition, the Association has actively supported the Caribbean Maritime University’s (CMU) training programmes, including the creation of the Caribbean Diploma in Shipping Logistics.
